[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The common name for this tiny butterfly from the Riodinidae family is the Metalmark. There are 1,532 species in this family. They acquired their name from the tiny metallic spots commonly found on their wings.

I photographed this particular specimen while in Nicaragua on a very sunny and windy day. It was about the size of a Copper or Blue.

Hello Ron,
very beautiful butterfly..thanks

Hi Ron,
Beautiful photo, as far as the technical details go: sharpness is 2nd to none, DoF is perfect, colors are natural. I might off-center the composition a bit with cropping from the right and the bottom, this action would IMHO make the image even more powerful. Thanks for sharing this beauty.
Kind regards from Ireland, László

Hi Ron,

It's an incredibly sharp picture. You have captured the colors & the pattern of the wings in full glory.

Thanks for sharing this lovely species.

Warm Regards,

Hi Ron,a great macro of this small lovely butterfly, not often seen on TN and caught in a very professional way,the sharpness is perfect and the high saturation is a winner solution,i like it!Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ron,
Beautiful coloured butterfly. Well captured if we talk on its details as well as its exposure. BG is also good but just that plant; just touching the wing. You could easily cloned it out. One more thing....don't know why you sharpened only edges of the leaves! It's clearly evident.
Thanks for sharing,

An unusual subject for you, Ron, and captured with the same high quality we see in your pictures of birds. The colors are superb.

Hello Ron

Beautiful macro of this butterfly, with fine POV, DOF and the way it is framed,
excellent focus, sharpness, and details, beautiful contrast of the color tones, TFS

Ciao Ron, great macro of lovely butterfly, splendid sharpness, wonderful natural colors, good DOF and fine details, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Hi ron,

The leaves are framing well the butterfly. The point of view is showing the details of the Metamark butterfly. The good luminosity is giving nice tints to the colours. Have a nice day.
