[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I at first thought this was a Monarch, but then realized something was very different. From a closed wing position the Queen looks very similar to the Monarch, but this butterfly seemed to be much darker in color tones.

It wasn't until I got a glimpse of its inside wing markings that I knew I had a complete different species. After checking some online guide sites I was able to identify this as a Queen Butterfly.

I will post another image in a WS.

Hello Ron,
Nice capture of a interesting specie with such lovely colors. The quality of the image is excellent.
Marius.

Here in India we have Plain Tiger that resembles this Queen from your country, Ron.
A beautiful composition with the butterfly perched on flowers.
The plain green BG makes the subject stand out distinctly.
Thanks and regards.
Ram

Hello Ron,
Beautiful macro of this butterfly in good sharpness and details. In my opinion the colors are a bit over-saturated, but the contrasts are gorgeous. Beautiful blurred green background.
Have a good weekend,
Peter

Hello Ron,
Beautiful colored butterfly indeed; almost looks like Tiger species. Well captured even in such harsh light. Very nice BG too. I like your effect here :-)
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice WE with Rio,
Srikumar
