[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the most well known and popular birds in Tobago is the blue-gray Tanager, also known as the "Blue Jean". It is found chiefly in cultivated areas and suburban districts, as well as in light woodland and forest edges. This specie is sitting in a mangotree right behind the frontdoor of my hotelroom. I waited for my chance and was lucky a couple of times. Many birds like the sweet mangofruits and in the next days I will show you more birds eating mango's.
Blue-gray tanagers are often seen around houses and gardens, flying about in noisy and restless groups.
Generally bluish grey in colour, the upperparts are brighter blue and there is a vivid vilolet-blue patch on each wing covert. The blue-gray tanager feeds on fruits of many kinds, including tomatoes and other commercially grown vegetables; it also takes insects. Breeding is mainly between March and July, and nests are usually high up in trees. The eggs are incubated for 14 days; the fledging periode is 17 days.

Hi Zeno,

Amazing colours on this picture - the blue bird is in beatiful contrast to the green and yellow plants. Compo and sharpness are very well defined!

Good going!

/Dan
