This is one of my favorite shots that i came home with from my trip to Austria.

One afternoon, after a rather tough walk from 2200m to 2600m, i reached the restaurant from the top of the mountain and i just enjoyed the view. After sipping a hot cocoa and having a sandwich, i just waited there for my skier friends to come and while doing that i noticed a very interesting flat cloud coming in from the west.
Slowly but surely, i came over the ski slopes and the entire landscape, but as i was up high, i actually saw it from the side.
This is the view that i had and here is one of the higher peaks that was emerging through it.

Hope you'll like it and thanks for visiting.

I've entered a photo bag design challenge recently and i could use your help. It turn out that the first 250 best rated designs go through the next round so if you have an extra 2 minutes, i'd really appreciate it.
Here is mine.
Many thanks for those who already dropped by!

Hi Horia

Another mystery shot. The unanswered question is what happened on the mountain
between the low ground ("under" side) and the high ground ("above" side). The easy
answer is that we don't know and we will never know. However the tip and the base
which we can see do reveal more than enough wonderful detail to stimulate the eyes
and the mind. I like the two toned colour of the cloud in between. The overcast sky in
the BG behind the mountain peak provides some lovely contrast to make the pinnacle
stand out beautifully in the frame. It's clear to see why you say it's your favourite shot.

Well done MF and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hi Horia

One of you favourite shots is now one of mine!!!

James

PS the cloud layer probably didn't approach you - more likely the condensation layer moved up the valley as the temperature fell and the water vapour condensed.

Hi Horia!

Oh, I like this picture so much! It lets the heart of a mountaineer beat higher! Moreover, the mystic and somehow mysterious aspect clearly adds to the value of picture as well as the delicate pastel colour tones. The composition is so well seen. I just love it!

Kind regards

Markus

Ca intr-un vis...superba captura!
Ce impresionant!
Felicitari pentru aceasta exceptionala captura!

Salut
Nuai bine,
Oana

Impresionante!!
Para observarlo con calma... enhorabuena Horia.

Indeed, i can see why this is one of your favourites my friend, what a sight this must have been to see! You chose the perfect format in framing it in portrait. I like the very pale colours very much, they tell of the conditions here very well, and as for that solid bank of cloud...awesome. A unique and beautiful capture, very well done!
Paul

I love this one! so smooth and peaceful! Great photo Horia!

Hi Horia ,
What a nice work.
It is great.

Hi Horia,
I can imagine that this is one of your favorites. It is a real stunner. I like it how you were standing on eye level with the cloud base and how you managed to get a gap large enough to capture above and below the cloud. The soft purple color adds a very artistic feel to it.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Horia,
excellent work! With the intruding cloud separating the peak from its base, the peak is lifted to majestic dominance. A rare phenomenon, by the way.
Very powerful image.
Thank you! WIth best regards,
Peter
