Hi Peter,
A very special and very typical species of the alpine meadows as the one of the picture. It is a beautiful species that also we have in the Pyrenees. Precious colors.
TFS. Best regards. Ferran.

Hello Peter,
It must be a coincidence that we are gallery-neighbours, both with a picture from Austria. And your photo's subject is one that I'm very interested in: Orchids
It is a nice picture of a very nice flower, and it shows the flower in it's specific landscape very well. Personally I'd prefer more forground, so you see more grasses and the leaves of this specimen.

Lieber Peter!
As Grüessli
Markus
Hello Peter,
Super composition for Nigitella. It might be having more blackish shades hence species is known as nigra.

Liber Peter,

Hy Peter
I am glad that you post one of my favourite orchids, even if I din't sow it yet, but only N.rubra. Both species are growing in the Carpathians also, but the rubra is more frequent! Bot are on the Romanian Red List, and are protected and vulnerable in the Bern Convention.
TFS and all the best!

Hi, dear Peter.
It is very nice to see your "old" new picture with pleasant for me subject. You know O like your close-ups, which contain landscapes. And both wonderful wild flower and surrounding mountains are representation very well. You have shown amazing colours, stem and petals of the flower perfectly. Shapes of the mountains are very attractive (especially for steppe citizen) and sunlight and fine clean sky are excellent as a scenery for flower beauty. My kind regards and TFS.
Alexei.

Hallo Peter

Hi Peter,
I always like your pov. It is always very nice to see the surroundings of a flower (or other subject) and you always know how to capture that. This was taken with good dof and great lighting. Very nice colours and good sharpness of the subject.
You have inspired me to try this kind of shots, so next time when I am in Tyrol I will give it a try.
Vielen dank
Paula

Hello Peter,
a very beautiful picture of Nigritella nigra taken from an excellent POV with a great wide-angle perspective, very good sharpness and bright colours.
TFS.
Best regards.
Maurizio
Hi Peter,
I've just been browsing your pages of fantastic alpine shots, amazed at the variety of wildflowers you have there.
This little orchid is similar to some that I've seen here, and will post soon.
Many of our orchids have no scent at all,and some have a vey subtle scent that most people can't smell.
The native orchid group here love me because I can sniff out our elusive spider orchids in the forest.
This is a great shot showing the flower in its natural environment.
I see a few rows of pixels across the sky though,a result of shooting at certain angles towards the light I think. Its unfortunate, but doesn't detract from the photo too much.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers
Steve

great wide angle, TFS Ori
Bonjour Peter,

Hallo Peter
Nothing special to you, an absolute delight to me. The combination of colours is very eye-catching and stimulates the mind while looking at it. In your image I see at least four different flower species and I am sure there are plenty more. I would love to walk around in that mountain and explore all the beauties one by one. Looking at this image has a very calming effect on the mind and therefore it cannot be only nothing special.
Thanks for sharing and best regards.

Hello Peter,
This is the sort of flower portrait I like: taken from a low POV with fine sharpness to show this N. nigra orchid against the BG of its habitat in a superb composition. The complete flower shot IMO!
Thanks for sharing this beauty and have a good weekend,
Best wishes,
Ivan

Hello Peter !
Nothing special, you say - I do not agree with you on this point. The flower in itself is such a beauty, I like her shape, her color, and then you have combined it with the wonderful mountains in the BG ; beautiful, and in the same time it shows us the environment where you found the forest. Light, colors, composition, POV, everything is excellent. I really like it. Very well done !
Valérie.

the relation between the subject and its environment always amazes me and its one of the least recorded in the photography circles. I love this picture for the same reason! The placement of the subject in the frame coupled by the diagonal curve of the hill and far OOF mountain to add mystery makes the viewer mesmerized.
A master stroke from the master:-)
BTW there is whiskey in India called "Master Stroke" and ur picture gives me the same amount of kick he he he he.

Hello Peter,

Hi Peter,
Very suggestive image, nice composition, however I feel PoV could be a bit lower and the orchid a bit bigger in the fame. Colors and exposure are gorgeous, though.
I've seen an, habitat-wise almost similar species (Dactylorhiza incarnata) on the coastal rocks of Ireland as well.
Kind regards, László
