Four cygnets (three in the image) following their mom Swan; pen is not in the image as you already noticed; close but no sigar-'.

wiki..
The word is derived from Old English swan, akin to the German Schwan and Dutch zwaan, in turn derived from Indo-European root *swen (to sound, to sing), whence Latin derives sonus (sound). (Webster's New World Dictionary) Young swans are known as cygnets, from the Latin word for swan, cygnus. An adult male is a cob, from Middle English cobbe (leader of a group); an adult female is a pen (origin unknown).

Hello Annick,
The impression of movement of the cygnets from left to right and the shape of their necks give this image a kind of dynamic flow. Nicely composed with the reeds too.
Great shot!
TFS,
Ivan

Hi Annick,
Beautiful birds and look to be showing the 'dipping head' movement associated with feeding swans. Good colours definition in the feathers. Nice to see wild birds.

Peter
