[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
The Broad-bodied Chaser (Libellula depressa) is a European dragonfly, relatively common in Belgium. Its abdomen is exceedingly broad and flat. It can be found near ponds and low rivers. It hunts insects and stays often on the top a bushes.
This is a female. And unfortunately, it had lost one wing (maybe in a battle with another dragonfly?).

Hi Catherine.
I have never met this lovely species in our places. However, there are many shots of it here. Yours is excellent, taken at so amazing POV against the blue sky and branches. Superb diagonal composition, excellent sharpness and details of the insect, fine smooth BG. Mi compliments and warm greetings.
Alexei.

Hi Catherine. This is the sort of picturei thought i was going to get today. I like the POV you have used looking up to the insect. You cane see where it gets its name with the large flat looking body. all with fine detail and bright colours. well done TFS.

Hello Catherine!

Excellent POV! I must say that because of this POV this is most dynamic picture of dragonfly I've ever seen. Colours and blue-sky BG also are great. I think three wings are enough - I saw dragonflies with three wings which have no problems with flying.

Hello Catherine,
The unusual POV against a great neutral BG makes this an interesting image that is sharp where in focus and a total DOF would be difficult to achieve here. If the wing were not missing it would have been mostly OOF.
I think the stucture at the tip of the abdomen suggests that this is a female rather than an immature male L. depressa.
Thanks and have a good week,
Ivan

Hola Catherine,
sacaste un buen partido a ese difícil ángulo, consuguiendo plasmar con detalle y claridad los detalles del insecto. Esta especie es poco abundante por mi zona.
Buena semana: Josep Ignasi.

Hi Catherine,

This is the most stunning shot of a dragonfly that I have seen! Wonderful pov, magnificent colors, and razorsharp details. It's interesting to see how well it does minus a wing. A beautiful background and superb composition.

Bonjour Ctaherine,

beau cliché, bien net (si ce ne sont les yeux). Ton fond fait bien ressortir la libellule estropiée.
Merci pour ce partage

Merhaba Catherine!
Farklı bir açıdan çekilmiş, enfes bir yusufçuk. Tüm detaylar enfes görünüyor. Arka alan ve netlik süper olmuş. Tebrikler.
