[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Photographed in captivity in a zoo in Olmen. There were two of them.
PP:
Cropped in ACR. Maked the image somewhat warmer through Kelvin adjustment. Brighten the photo a bit and adjusted the sat and vibrance a bit too.
Opened in CS3 doing the necessary USM sharpening in the Otter selection(using the lasso). Inversed the selection and moved it a bit to avoid a 'line' and blurred a bit the background.
Sharpening happened in the lightness channel in LAB mode.

Wiki:
Otters have a dense layer (1,000 hairs/mm², 650,000 hairs per sq. in) of very soft underfur which, protected by their outer layer of long guard hairs, keeps them dry under water and traps a layer of air to keep them warm.

All otters have long, slim, streamlined bodies of extraordinary grace and flexibility, and short limbs; in most cases they have webbed paws. Most have sharp claws to grasp prey, but the short-clawed otter of southern Asia has only vestigial claws, and two closely-related species of African otter have no claws at all: these species live in the often muddy rivers of Africa and Asia and locate their prey by touch.

Hi Annick

Lovely shot of this otter. I could watch otters playing all day. They seem to have such a sense of fun. Pin sharp shot and lovely light, especially in the eye. I love the colour tones as well

Hi Annick,

Very cute shot of this playful looking otter. Your pp work has left some kind of big blur circle at the top left. :)

Hello Annick!
I really love this animal! And your picture could not be better! It really underlignes the cuteness of this little fellow. Especially the sharpness of his eyes & nose makes this picture something very special!
