[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Completely overcast today and in the preparation for a workshop I went outside on a small field trip. This picture was taken a minute before a severe rain storm tortured my photo gear.
This is a Purple hairstreak (Neozephyrus quercus). It must have felt the storm coming as it allowed me to come quite close.

Hi Jacob

Wonderful detail and composition here - especially given the conditions. I especially like the way the legs stand out.

I was going to take some pictures today but the weather here is foul!!

Hi Jacob
I like the compostion POV and colors. I think that you could add a little bit more contyrast and sharpen it (unsharp mask on butterfly wings)
Best wishes

hi jacob,
nice macro shot, the so small butterfly has been captured well, nicely composed shot,
tfs & regards

Hi Jacob
Amazing stuctural details!

Hi Jacob,
a beautiful butterfly with nice compostion and POV.
The head, antennea and legs are razor sharp.
And it standout well from the BG.

Well done.

bonjour jacob
netteté et bon eclairage pour cette photo reussie,le papillon est bien detaillé,bon point de vue.

Hi Jacob,
The DOF was chosen well on this one as it created enough sharpness for your entire subject, also this is a very nice perspective. Nicely done. :)

Good texture on the wing Jacob, and very sharp head parts. Muted green works well with the grey. Best, Brat.

Hallo Jacob,

Een mooie opname van deze vlinder, goede POV en achtergrond. De kleuren zijn natuurgetrouw.
Deze opname geeft de teerheid van de vlinder op zich heel goed weer. Mooi gedaan. Groeten Bob

Wow!!! Foto molto bella. Sfumature e dettagli bellissimi!

It is a very nice capture, with lovely clarity and beautiful details. You nailed the DOF and obtained a great composition with the blured BG.
A very elegant shot, TFS.

Hello Jacob

Wonderful sharp detail and focus.Excellent DOF and POV.The colours are well saturated. You have captured the textures very well.Nicely done,TFS

Beautiful butterfly. The focus is at the right place. Clear and sharp, I like it.

Hello Jacob,
Very good macro-shot but I agree with Cataclysta: it should be more colour in this picture. Maybe you should manipulate a little bit with saturation? But sharpness and DOF is great, thanks
