Hi Annick,
well he's had a drink...and by the look on his face he's thinking about what's for Dinner!
An awesome portrait, the detail in his mane and coat is amazing and the the way you've filled the frame is well seen. Very imposing and worthy of the title 'The King'.

Oh, yes, it is real king of animals. Great detail of fur, DOF and background. Wonderful work. Thanks for sharing.
It's very interesting what is more important - aperture ratio of lens or big focal Length of lens?

Good evening Annick,
It is a very large cuddly toy which you could collect with your camera. It is splendid with its royal colors and you emphasized it well. Beautiful colors and good light. Cheer.
Good Evening

Hi Annick
Although those eyes of the King seem very sleepy and lethargic you can be sure of one thing and that is no maybe that the king knows exactly what's happening around him. Those lazy eyes took recognisance of every move you made. At the same time you were also very alert to seize this great moment and to capture this amazing frame filling portrait.
A great composition with excellent measures in the cropping to nail the full visual focus on this lion's face and mane. The focus and DOF are quite splendid with superb colour rendition. The limited green BG just does enough to accentuate the raw beauty of the animal and to bring out the lovely contrasting colours of the lion. The exposure was perfect and while it ensured excellent details all over it also ensured great lighting to bring those eyes to life.
Very well done and TFS.

hello Annick,
Again a derogation to my principles, but this lion portrait is just great. Funny to see this king after his supper with the green spots on its fur. But he wears them with a lot of dignity!
Well done

Your zoo must be a good one. All the animals you post look so healthy and well cared for. This fellow looks like he's just been brushed. He does project a sort of "kingly" attitude. The nice natural color, and the sharpness of the image with great focus on eyes, makes this another winner.

Hello Annick,
amazing portrait of the KOJ,
can literally count the hairs, pensive mood after a meal i suppose as the beard has the grass from the animal gut or may be from the water hole alge?
