The Common Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) is a species of hawthorn native to Europe, northwest Africa and western Asia. Other common names include May, Maythorn, Quickthorn, and Haw.
It is a broadly spreading shrub or small tree 5-14 m tall, with a dense crown. The Haw is a small, oval dark red fruit about 1 cm long, berry-like, but structurally a pome containing a single seed. Haws are important for wildlife in winter, particularly thrushes and waxwings; these birds eat the haws and disperse the seeds in their droppings.

L'épine blanche (Crataegus monogyna), aussi appelée « aubépine à un style », est une plante originaire de l’Europe, de l’Afrique du nord-ouest et de l’Asie occidentale.
C’est un buisson ou un arbuste largement répandu, de 5 à 14 de haut, au feuillage dense. L’épine blanche porte en automne des petits fruits ovale rouge, appelés cenelles, d’un cm de long, en forme de baie, contenant un seul noyau. Ces cenelles sont importants pour la faune en hiver, particulièrement pour les grives et les jaseurs boréal : ces oiseaux mangent et participent à la dispersion des noyaux.

A very good pov with nice lighting..the focus is very good..I posted a picture of these a few weeks ago and the birds have eaten them all now.
