A guest in my garden

I don't know the specific name of this breath so if someone can tell me that would be fine.

Thanks to Bente it is most problably a female Black-tailed skimmer.

The dragon-fly really posed for me as it was taking a sun bath I even could pull the leaves towards me to have a better shot.

Lovely shot Jacobs, excellent colour and composition. SOme notes on what dragonfly this is and about it's existence or how you got the shot would be good.

Henk, good shot of this dragonfly. The yellow and black on teh green is very nice. Pitty of the reflections on the wings. Nice composition onteh leaf too.
Greetings, Jan

Heerlijke foto Henk,
Goede capture, good composition, great colours too. I don't know the name of this one. But I know for sure that there are some people here who can help. Erg goede foto Henk en welkom hier op de site

Nice shot Jacobs
Good colors and nice composition.

Nice capture of what I think is a newly emerged Black-tailed skimmer Orthetrum cancellatum. It ressembles closely the photo of a female of that species that is in my book on dragonflies, but as I don't know what the very young male looks like, I've no idea whether it could also be a male.
Two things make me think this one is newly emerged:
1. The very shiny (almost soapish-looking) wings and
2. The fact that you could pull the leaf towards you for taking the picture. A grown specimen probably wouldn't let you do that..
