My first A. hepatica!!!

Hope you'll like it :-))

Anemone hepatica (common names: Kidneywort, liverwort, pennywort) is an herbaceous member of the Ranunculaceae or buttercup family that is native to the forest floors of temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. It has been called Hepatica nobilis also, although at least one recent study of the phylogeny calls for all of Hepatica to be included in Anemone. It grows on stone walls, rocks and in woodlands. The variety H. nobilis var. nobilis is native to Europe.

Taxonomy
The taxonomy of the genus Anemone and its species is still not fully resolved. Anemone acutiloba and Anemone americana have traditionally been placed in the genus Hepatica Miller, based on the involucre immediately subtending the flower, lobed leaves instead of cut leaves and the foliage persisting year round. But the latest phylogenetic studies of Anemone analyzed, surveyed broadly over its range of species, indicates that Hepatica should be included under Anemone. Hepatica does have some morphological differences with other Anemone species, but greater similarities both in molecular attributes and other shared morphologies would seem to outweigh the differences. (S. B. Hoot et al. 1994).[3]

Herbalism
It was used by medieval herbalists to treat liver diseases. Modern applications by herbalists include treatments for pimples, bronchitis and gout.

Scientific classification
Kingdom: Plantae
Division: Magnoliophyta
Class: Magnoliopsida
Order: Ranunculales
Family: Ranunculaceae
Genus: Anemone
Species: A. hepatica (=syn. Hepatica nobilis)

Hi Ena.
What a cute trio you have pictured. I like different level of sharpness of every flower. It is so impressive component of photo. Natural surroundings are reflected perfectly too and supplements the beautiful flowers excellently. I also like wonderful clean colour of the shot and impressive lights. My compliments.

Bellissima immagine, splendida composizione verticale con il fiore in primo piano a fuoco e gli altri due sfocati che creano piani diversi e una dinamicità prospettica, ottima la scelta del POV, molto buoni i dettagli e molto belli i colori. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hello Ena, wonderful flowers! Great composition and very sharp image, well done, thanks!

Mario

Hi Ena, the composition and colour in this shot are both very good. I like the arrangement of three that you have with the forest floor as a great backdrop. The front flower is very sharp, in perfect focus, while the other two are a little soft. I'm not sure if you wanted that or not and I'm not sure how the conditions were when you shot these flowers. Your notes are excellent.

If you want better focus on the other flowers in a situation like this, then you will need to decrease your aperture size which will mean you will need to also decrease your speed. This might need a small tripod to prevent blur. Something else you might try is to move back just a little from the subject so your focal range is a little greater in the subject area.

Thanks, John

Bonjour,
Belles couleurs et excellentes explication.
Bonne journée.

Hi Ena!

I was absent from your gallery for some time and I'm glad to have found the way back to it. I like your flower pictures very much. Like this one they are joyful and the delightful colours invite me for a contemplative walk outside. It's spring! And you show us the way to it...

Thanks, and kind regards

Markus

Hello Ena,
This is a fine composition, and an interesting use of the principle of three!
Good details in the delicate little flowers, and a very typical image of spring...
Well done on the close-up work!
Greetings,
Pablo -

I don't know much about plants, but I know a good photo when I see one! I love the curved path or triangle that you take the eyes on starting witht he sharp flower and following that pattern along. As they become softer, it is like you are reinforcing the idea of the flower while not making us strain to see details of each flower. The intense colours also work very well against that background. Great work!

I have Hepatica transylvanica in my grandma's backyard. It grows naturally around there! Anyway great details and sharpness and beautiful colours! TFS
