Landscape painted by the sun or the most expensive holiday day in my life - both sentences can be used to characterize today’s picture :>

But let’s start from the beginning...

We started to visit Balkans in 2000, but the first serious scientific expedition to this region was organized in 2005. This time we decided to visit only Romania. And for about 3 weeks this plan was realizing.
During this time we saw many regions starting in from SW, than we travelled through Fagaras and Piatra Craiului Mts to Danube Delta, just to finish our trip in Doi Mai in Dobrogea.
It's a small village localized only 6 km from the border with Bulgaria so after one day needed for a regeneration Michal proposed to cross the borded for 1 day. We accepted this idea with pleasure, especially that one of attractions in our “programme” was to see the beautiful and high (about 70 m) Bulgarian cliffs on Cape Kaliakra on the Black Sea coast. The cape is long and narrow and at southern part of it there are remnants of the fortified walls. Moreover, there is also a marine nature reserve where e.g. 3 species of dolphins can be observed.
These clifs are starting in Kamen Briag (=Stone Coast), about 15 km N from a mentioned fortifications. And in this place this photo was taken.

During nice, sunny weather they really look beautiful. And this is the first sentence which can be used to characterize this photo...

But what about the second one?

Well, really I have to say that it is a strange story... When we crossed the Romanian border we expected that it will be necessary to buy a green card for our car. But when a custom-house officer saw that we are from Poland and EU he even did not check our passwords and just told us to go. We knew that Romania apllies to be a member of EU so maybe this was the reason why we did not need green card?

Finally and unfortunately when we decided to leave Romania for 1 day and to go to Bulgaria, a small surpise appeared on the border. We had to buy green card but this time the price was much higher that in normal situation...
Of course nobody likes situation like this but you know, it sometimes happened... :)

Anyway, this day was really great. We saw fantastic places, Michal found interesting amphipods and I collected some halophilic tiger beetles :>
After all we found a small and very nice restaurant to eat supper and to drink a few cold Kamenica beers (of course driver did not drink! ;>). Really I have to say that Bulgarian dishes are my favourite food on the whole Balkans, and not only because one of the names found in menu is “Kavarna Radomirska” ;>

The next day we packed our camps and started to come back Poland...

If we come back to this part of the Balkans? Who knows but I really hope so.... :>

Hello Radomir,
Excellent shot of this beautiful coastline. The colours are most striking and I like the composition and the POV very much.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Bravo, Radomir.
Every your landscape picture is a small chef-d'oeuvre. I like razor sharpness and great clear colours of this shot, richness of content (you managed to show to us so many nice objects). Picture is composed very well and your choice of the POV is superb too. My compliments and YFS.

Preciosos colores y agradable presentación. Unos magníficos detalles. Buena luz y excelente encuadre.
Saludos, JL.

Hi Radomir

This is yet another great "postcard" from you!
The picture is wonderful and it actually reminds me of a TN member who nowadays pops by from time to time but used to have some extremly beautiful landscape postings - Stephen Emerson.
I really like the colors in the photo - especially the deep blue of the water. Also the details are great and the very good DOF carries good focus throughout the entire frame.
I think the only nit here is the blown sky...but with a notmal camera and no extra special filter...you can't really do anything about that.

The story is also very nice and interesting...i must say that i'm not familiar with the laws, especially now when they change from one day to another. Anyway...i'm pleased you had a great time ;)

Cheers, my freind and TFS

Witaj Radomir!
I'm glad that there are foreigners like you to show my country's places... Your photo is very crisp and good colors!

I hope now nobody will make you pay for a green card since our ebtering the EU.

Away from the theme, we had a medieval royal family of Radomirs and now we have a town of the same name in western Bulgaria...

Pozdrawjam! And I wish you a nice week!

Czesc Radziu

Nice landscape, the composition and the detail color is good, regards
