Sambucus ebulus or in English Dwarf elder, Daneworth, European Dwarf Elder is a herbaceus species of Elder.The berries are a very valuable food resource for many birds. They are concidered among the best antioxidant remedies. Elders are used as food plants by the larvae of some butterflies. The crushed foliage and immature fruit have a strong foetid smell.

This elder resemebles polk berry. The deep purple contrasts nicely with the green foliage. Great note. Well done.
