Hello my Friends!
At the beginning I would like to appologize all of you for lack of answers for your nice critiques and no comments to your pictures. I really watch them carefully, and I promisse to write some more words very soon (I hope after this week)...

This time also only for a moment, it is really hot period of time for me now...

This is an adult specimen of Rana graeca Boulenger, 1891 - Stream Frog, or Graecian Frog.
It is easy to recognize thanks to very characteristic colouration of the throat (there is a white stripe on it - better visible on my earlier picture presented here).

This amphibian species is really cold-lover, it can be easy find "relaxing" on stones on the banks of streams and fast running rivers where temprature of water is below 10C.

As some basic data about this species were written by my last time (note the link above :>), here only some numbers according to amphibian fauna of Bulgaria where this picture was taken:

Ranidae - 6 species of Rana (including Rana esculenta)
Bufonidae - 3 species of Bufo
Discoglossidae - 2 species of Bombina
Hylidae - 1 species of Hyla
Pelobatidae - 2 species of Pelobates
Salamandridae - 1 species of Salamandra and 4 species of Triturus s.l.

And last but not least, I would like to dedicate this picture to a new TN member, and great fan of herpetology - Bayram (boreocypriensis) :>

All the best for ALL of YOU my FRIENDS!!! :>

It is okay with me...I always appreciate your images..as I do this one...it has a flavor which you do present in your own unique way. You have much, even as a young man, to offer. You have been to places where many will only dream of going and in some cases, countries which have had terrible wars and strife...You have intelligence to take important images and learn as well as teach. You are a good contributor to "true and serious nature" in your very own special way...and thanks much for sharing this picture!
Bob

Magnifique, sujet peu sympatique mais très bien présenté.

Hi Radek

Nice to see you again, my friend! I hope all is well with you.
A very nice picture from your trip to Bulgaria. This Rana graeca is a species i haven't seen yet in real life, but i do hope to...maybe even this year.
The details of your shot are excellent and the colors very natural and beautiful. Also, i love the low-angled POV here as well as the discreet effect of teh fill-in flash.
Great work and nice dedication to yet another herpetologist here on TN :)

Cheers and TFS

Hello Radomir,
Excellent close capture of this Stream Frog in interesting pale colours and a bit spotty like a toad! I like its pose and the low POV. Great focus on the eye and details are very sharp. Well done!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hi Radomir

You have captured this dull coloured frog really well. Excellent POV, sharpness and DOF. Wll comopsed on a good background too.

Chris

Hi Radomir,
A beautiful capture of this toad. Very well composed with excellent details. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Bonito acercamiento Radomir.

Very very nice portrait of this forg, colours and details are perfects, very interesting note, thanks for share,Luciano

Hi Radomir,
Thank you for this perfect rendering of a Rana graeca specimen, the flash-assisted illumination revealed its pattern and coloration characteristics quite nicely and your reflection in that huge eye is an excellent by-product of this capture. A slight typo-error on its popular name ("Steam" Frog) is easily correctable, I presume. TFS indeed.
Mehmet

Hi Radomir.
Simply great pose of the animal, POV of the photographer and composition of the shot. Excellent DOF and sharpness of the image. I like natural colours and so suitable for the frog surroundings and its coloration. Bravo and best wishes.
Alexei.
P.S. I have some free time and I may prepare shots for your site if you want them else. I remember your request.

Hello Radomir,
This is an excellent capture of the Stream Frog in a good pose and taken from a fine POV. The lighting and composition are superb.
If this species is a lover of cold water it ought to thrive in Sweden!
Thanks for sharing this one.

Hi Radomir,
Wonderful portrait shot of this frog with superb details and sharp features. That eye really looks gorgeous. Perfect lighting and exposure and I like the natural environment you have captured it in. Great low POV and a marvellous composition. Kudos.

Hallo Radomir
What a big and slimy fellow you have photographed here. I cannot say that this one is a pretty one, but is surely has some attraction and magnetism towards it. It has remarkable patterns and marks on its body. The big peeled out eye has a lovely colour to it, with shades of gold green and black. It has big paws and his back legs looks very strong. I am sure when it jumps; it will be a huge jump. Great shot. Good close-up. Thanks for sharing. Have a good weekend.
Kind regards
Anna
