I'm quite surprised that you encountered this one only once and only then. I taught this is a quite common and widspread species. We got plenty of them here.

Poor Swallow Tail Greg, you wore it out chasing it. Even I have posted a Swallow Tail photo, but I found mine at a butterfly farm, whereas you found yours in real life, where it was free to fly where is wanted to go (until you came along!).
Excellent composition Greg, as you said not the best, but still a dainty attractive shot. Well done.

Beautiful and artful composition!
Looks good from where I'm sitting...;-)
Sounds like this one was an adventure worth remembering! Makes me ready for a nice, long, hot, uphill mountain bike ride. My riding usually slows down in the winter...:(
I'll also keep my eye open for butterfly photo opportunities this summer thanks to shots like this.

You had luck to see this beauty. I saw only one caterpillar, but never the adult. I'd love to see it someday even though b'flies aren't really my favs.
It's a nice picture though quality is really poor as for you. I hope you don't mind but today only small smiley :)

a reminder of summer again? It's a beautiful butterfly.
Well done with the composition, nice colours and good DOF.
Very well done.

well Greg, the shot is indeed not your best,
but even you captured one in wild. it is very easy to took one in buttrfly Zoo but in wild it is another story. The colours are extreme good, the pov is not enough, the dof is good, very good trying. You and Joanna and the rest of your family I wish you all a good 2006.

Hi Greg, as you say it's not your best but I'm glad you found one to shoot. I've never had the chance. Well done on this one.

Technically it may not be your best shot, but it still shows us what a stunning b'fly they are. The only chance we have of seeing them here in New Zealand is to visit a tropical butterfly house. At least you get to see it in it's natural habitat. I love the workshop post. Stunning!

Grzegorz, I know they're difficult to capture, but I think you did great.
I like the feeling of movement and the colors.
Great bg too.

Nie szkodzi, ze niezbyt ostro. Wyszlo bardzo dymaniczne ujecie. Wrazenie spotegowane przez krzyzujace sie w tle zdzbla traw.

Oh! That is a butterfly. I have almost forgotten what they look like. Too much snow and cold here.
Great work my friend Greg.

nie narzekaj, jest fajne, może inni coś mają do jakości. Piękny motyl, większość szczegółów czytelna. Podoba mi się.
