[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The birds on the poles are cormorans. They are a protected species in Denmark, and have multiplied in great numbers in recent years. This is a growing problem to fishermen, since the cormorans are very clever at "fishing" from the nets that fishermen stretch out between these poles. And in the process they often destroy the nets. The cliff in the background is Stevns Klint which is a chalk and limestone deposit that dates back 65 million years (about the time when the dinosaurs became extinct). The cliff was laid bare during the last ice age when the icemasses retracted south and carved the landscapes of Europe that we know today. The cliff is also protected of course, but many people walk along the cliff in the hope of finding fosilized fish and insects from 65 million years ago. I have posted a close-up of the cliff as workshop.

I like this composition, Per - the two cormorants posing on the poles make for a nice graphical element, and they even did you the favor of assuming different postures. The cliff makes a well-textured and contrasting background. Very crisp shot, and good notes.

I really like the shot Per,
The capture and then the behind with those great cliffs, that fantastic colours, and a great job you did. welldone.

I like this photo, I find it interesting with those two cormorans siluetes perfectly defined with the sky and the colour is very real, very similar to the one we have here.
I find the note interesting, only one thing, dinasaurs are known to have been here surely from about 200 millions of years ago, you can see some steps in my last post dated 120 million years ago. Nice one.

I like these cormorans with stretched wings looking like prehistoric animals. You've managed so well in getting this against the sky and the cliff in the back. Also, I like the horizontal and vertical lines crossing at 90° and the open horizon on the right. Very well composed image, Per.

Excellent landscape and bird shot in combination - I surely miss that boat in order to make those kind of photos - I never visit Stevns klint so its nice to see here - thanks Per for sharing.

I love thes birds. To me they look like dinosaur birds when they dry their wings. I see them in India and Nepal all the time.
