Glacial valley - Greenland

|In early May, when this photo was taken, only a narrow band of glacial melt water snakes through this sandy valley. The Greenland ice-sheet is located about 2 km in the opposite direction, and by August this valley will be filled with a raging torrent of melt water. An unprecedented melt event this summer led to a surge of water that knocked out the bridge in the town of Kangerlussuaq, located about 20km West of this location.|

Absolutely beautiful Jeff, so peaceful and serene. I can only imagine what it would look like when it is filled with water. Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear about the damage to the bridge. Best regards.
