Dear Friends!
The end of the 2009 is really close, the winter all around, so today something from the North - even if without snow ;>

Here we are in Pyha-Luosto National Park, one of 35 national parks lacalized in Finland.

It is both the oldest and the newest national park in this country. Why both the oldest and the newest? well, the Pyha-Luosto National Park was established in 2005 when Finland's oldest national park, Pyhätunturi National Park (established in 1938) was joined to area of Luosto :>

The new park covers 142 sq kilometres, and protects one of the oldest mountain massive of the Earth, formed about 2 billion years ago!

Recently park protects different types of mountain habitats, but also bogs and streams. This area is place were many rare mammals and birds finding good places to reproduce and live, inluding bears, wols, eages, or black grouses.

The highest peaks in the park are Noitatunturi, 540 m a.s.l , and Ukko-Luosto, 514 m a.s.l.

This picture was taken in Isokuru canyon, one of the most characteristic areas in the park.

Hi Radomir,

Historically interesting that the natural park, is good to know that there are still places where protected areas are growing rather than diminishing. The picture is very good and very well taken advantage of the angle of capture, you got very good depth. Excellent work. Thanks for sharing.

I wish you a happy new year! greetings and hugs!

Jesús

Hi Rado,a different and very interesting pic from your finnish trip.I like a lot the interesting note and the choice of point of view,a very professional perspective whit the best quality as possible.Have a happy new year you too and thanks for share! LUCIANO

Hi Radomir,
A very interesting photo with a wonderful composition and POV. I like the many rocks that dominate the composition but not the photo. It leads the eye nicely to the evergreen trees and onward to the summer sky. This really feels like an untouched piece of nature and I am glad to read it is now well protected for the future. I do feel that you might have oversharpen the photo just a little.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Radomir,
Your very low POV makes those majestic trees look taller than they really are, and the rocky foreground, also in perfect focus thanks to your wide angle setting on your lens, provides the observer with a great DOF, which result in a superb vertical composition.
Wish to see more of your wonderful naturescapes in 2010!
Cheers,
Mehmet

Hello Radomir,
A vey special stony landscape taken from an excellent point of view. I like the gradation from stones to pines and then the cloudy sky.. I also can see some face in the stones, doesn't look very friendly.
I wish you a happy and successful New Year.
Kind regards
Anne

Hello radomir,
A fine capture from your Scandinavian trip, of this Finnish Lapland NP. The composition of the boulders and pines are great and the pines look slow growing and old.
Your note is very interesting!
Thanks and i wish you a happy and successful 2010!

Hello Radomir.

What a wonderful landscape. Thank you for that quite unusual picture. I like the exceptionnal gradation from the rocks to the pine and finally up to the sky. Hope the world will be so to reach peace and serenity.

Your photography is like a symbol.

Thank you for the sharing. See you soon on treknature for other pictures.

All the best.

Philippe.

Hi Radomir,
This image shows so well, all that represents Finland (and the whole of Scandinavia) clean, crystal-clear air and spring like, soft colours even in July!

I like very much the way you present this landscape, making it a pleasure to view your work.

The bits of moss in the foreground of the photo add interest.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday,
Greetings from South Africa
Ingrid

Hi Radomir
The clean air in this part of the world produces a green very different from other parts in Europe!
