[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a male of the Idas Blue (Lycaeides idas). It was taken in the late afternoon on a pile of sandy gravel just next to the airport. Several specimens were basking here and sucking moisture from the damp sand. However, it was difficult to get one to stand still long enough.
I've cropped the original and am just starting to learn how to use Photoshop CS3. So I have tried to lighten the shadows a little and sharpen up the edges. I try not to over-sharpen, but it is always hard to guess what will subsequenctly be lost in the JPEG compression.
If only TrekNat would allow larger files so we could compress less.

Una preciosa mariposa con unos colores muy suaves.
Estupenda nota.
Un saludo, Sira
