[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
Of average size, 30 mm, and a slender body, the elegant agrion: elegans will ischnura, is a young lady rather simple to identify: its abdomen is almost completely black, except the 8 2nd segment which is blue-sharp. The lower part of the abdomen is yellowish. The duller female revêt of the tonalities varying from purplished with thegreenish one. Presence of a black spot bordered of white at the end of the wings.

The coupling takes place in two phases, a precopulation of a few minutes, the couple out of tandem, the male imprisoning by its "caudal" grip the female on the level of the blow. When the female is ready, it is it which by curving its abdomen, comes to pose its genital on that of the male. The position can last thus during hours, the two partners fixed on a stem. The laying takes place, female alone, with half inserted in water, the evening, among the plants.

Good catch with good colours, it seems that you did too much sharpening, the picture is too 'crispy'...

Hello Christophe, very nice Blue-tailed Damsel. Good composition and very good details. Nice work.

Une belle photo, Christophe, bien cadrée, mais le flash donne des reflets trop contrastés, ce qui enlève de la douceur aux couleurs et aux détails en les rendant un peu agressifs.
