Ophrys splendida is, as indicated by its name, a beautiful and very coloured ophrys.

Its white to pink sepals display a dark green stripe in the middle and petals show a gradation going from pink or white in the center to yellow or green on the external side. The lip has a yellow margin and a blue mirror underlined by a thin white border.

Flowering season is relatively late lasting from April to May.
