Hi Hendrik, welcome to TN. Good shot to start off with. I like the composition and I'd love to see that bee a bit closer. You can post images of up to 800 pixels which makes viewing easier.

The bee is I am fairly sure is a Violet Carpenter Bee, Xylocopa violacea.

Well done and I look forward to more.

Bienvenido a TN Herndrik.
Bonita primera presentacion doble... un insecto sobre una bella y llamativa flor.
Los abejorros oscuros son siempre difíciles de retratar, pero aquí se aprecia el colorido espectacular de sus alas.
Excelente agudeza con muy buena composicion.

Pretty first double presentation... an insect on a beautiful and showy flower.
The dark bumblebees are always difficult to portray, but here is appraised the spectacular colorful of its wings.
Excellent sharpness with very good composition.

Welcome here to TN and you 1st post is excellent.

You managed good detail across the board which is difficult to achieve with all the contrasts in this shot.

Welcome to TN.

Awsome detail and color in the flower, the background gives a warm contrast. Composition also good, nicely balanced free space around the subject(s).
Good work!
