Photo taken at Villard de Lans, on the banks of the bournes
The body is blue-green metallic iridescent blue-green eyes. Sexual dimorphism is important.
The female has brown and quite dark iridescent wings, decorated with a small white spot near the tip. His abdomen is blue with a bronze at the end part.
The male has dark brown black blue veined wings. Immatures are paler, with wings of bronze color.
Wetlands, and rather near flowing water.
It may be noted that this insect enjoys fresher and faster compared to other species of damselfly streams. She also prefers smaller rivers and rather shady or high waist. It is typically found in forested streams.

Loved your notes.
A very impressive 45* angle image!!!
The leaves in the right bottom corner could have been cropped off.
Other wise this is a pleasant presentation!!!
Mario with kind regards from Canada.
Ciao Amtoine, lovely composition with beautiful damselfly, splendid light and wonderful colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
Hi Antonine, Great note. Nice angle which gives a nice view of the insect. I concur with Mario that the right portion of the image looks too much for showing of the insect. Thank for sharing
Tres belle libellule, la photo est tres bonne mais j'aurais preferé un entre cadrage
