My very first insect this year ! A little bee on a flower, in my garden - well, I hope the picture will not be deleted, as it has been taken in my garden, but well, the bee is a wild animal, so there should be no problem.

The flower is called 'Muscari armeniacum' it is very common in gardens but it also grows wildly in some parts of the countryside. It is a very beautiful flower, in the shape of many small blue bells. It attracts a lot of insects, I have noticed.

The bee is, I think, a common honey bee. I have seen some of them before - I have even seen a butterfly some weeks ago, already - but this is the first insect I managed to take a picture of, this year. I was so happy about it, so I thought I could share it with my TN friends.

I also like this picture because it shows SPRING, and the new beginning of live, after the long sleep of winter.

I hope you like it as much as I liked aking it ! :-)

Hi Valerie,
Great shot of these beautiful tiny flowers with the bee making the shot a masterpiece. Very impressive sharpness, details and colours with perfect light and exposure management. A fine DOF and a well chosen POV to catch this action moment. Superb composition. Kudos.

Hi Valerie!

I don't know how your garden is, but there could also be wild flowers... Mine is full of them!

Nice picture, Valerie, the flower and the fine colours are welcome messengers for the spring. I also like the blurred background with the lines that contrast with the rounds of the flower.

Kind regards

Hi Valerie,

Good of sharness with beautiful colors.
Composition are also good.
I should for myself the purple flower right and left under clone away.
These purple leading of from the subject.
You have also 2 subjects: The flower and the bee.
Better is one head subject.
Your bee has been now hidden below the photograph, while the flower are very big.
I hope you understand it what i mean.

Hallo Valerie
I mentioned to you once before that purple is a very special colour to me, and that is why I'll send this lovely image right where it belongs. – To my theme "My purple obsession".
This is truly a very beautiful image and I must congratulate you on your standard of photography with this one. I think the sharpness of the picture and the details are just stunning. The vibrant and deep lavender colour is so beautiful, and it makes a great contrast with the blurred green on the background. Close-up work is well done and real sharp. Now that I am finished about all the beauty of this purple flower, I just want to add, that I like the bee too. Thanks for sharing and have a most enjoyable day.

Bonjour Valerie,
looks like Spring has arrived in the Elsass region. Must be nice as we still are covered in snow here in Ontario.
Love this close up, so rich in colors. Beautiful composition and the DOF is right on.

Hi Valerie.
What a nice plant and flower you have pictured. You managed to reflect all tiny details colour shades of every little flower and bee. Amazing DOF. All plant is in focus and BG is necly burred. Your picture is full of pleasant lights too and has superb composition. Bravo and kind regards.

Hello Valerie,
I had to look twice at "date taken"..!
No bees here yet, I'm afraid, if it were they would freeze to death since this morning is the coldest so far this winter...
Good light and a fine composition, attractive colours in insect and flower!

Bonjour Valerie,
What a good capture of this inflorescence.
I like the way you took good advantage of the vertical form to made this portrait composition.
And the insect at the bottom is so well detailed, plenty of fine details, that makes of this an excellent shot.

Beautiful image, very sharp and detailed. The colours are wonderful and the exposure and lighting is right on the money. Great Job!!

We still have snow all around; no flowers, no bees.
You are soooooo fortunate to start enjoying taking these lovely images.
They were BOTH, the flower & the bee, "posing" for you.
Warm greetings,

Liebe Valerie,

Hi Valerie,

Hi Valerie,
this flower is very attractive and beautiful indeed. The clarity of both the bee and the purples are super sharp. The positioning ogf the bees also add challenge to the eyes. you managed the light very well making it very well seen in details and strong emphasis.

Hello Valerie. Beautiful photo of a muscari with its bee visitor.
