In the north of Chamonix, the needle of the Chardonnet 3824m and the glacier of Argentière 10km length. This glacier while melting feeds Arve river and also Emosson dam per communicating vase.

On the rock, the brave flowers are Epilobes, scientific name: Epilobium angustifolium.

This photo was made in summer at 2168m altitude and developed on 30x40cm photo paper, the result with 4 Mpixels is wonderfull.

I hope you like this famous landscape ;-)

Excelente... el contraste del blanco níveo con las flores tan encendidas es maravilloso.

Excellent... the contrast of the lily white with the flowers so ignited is wonderful.
Great frame, great composition.
Bravo!

Christian, I'm sharing your photo once again with my wife this morning. She says "absolutely gorgeous!". I must agree! Your inclusion of the Epilobes in the foreground give the added color & balance that make this an exceptional take!!

It seems so odd to see flowers in the snow, to me anyway, what pollinates them I wonder?

Fantastic shot Christian, great compo, very well done.

Hi Taz
VERY nice, love the flowers in the FG, and the exposure on the whites are great!

The Fire weed That's one of the names we call then in UK. works brilliantly against the view of the tumbling glacier.

What a landscape, very beautiful. You took perfectly all the txtures from the rock and snow with good balance. This one at full resolution must be perfect to play with levels and filters, I am sure you enjoyed.

Flowers.. and ice. Quite an unusual combination in most circumstances ;-)
Colours are really good, the sky makes it look so cold..

It is rare to see shots of glaciers with so many colours in. Not just the flowers but also the green on the opposite slope adds a very special quality to what is finally a great shot. I detected a bit of noise in the sky, so I did a Workshop on that.

The flowers in the foreground and the harsh background makes for a really powerful and beautiful setting. This has all been very well captured as well

The contrast between the flowers color and the bright background creates a very good composition. I like it.

How I wish we had such landscapes in Australia, beautiful. The flower in the bottom right frame the picture perfectly.

Breath taking view, Christian!
Very sharp both the Epilobium and the glacier. The cool blue and green colours of the glazier go together with the cool purple of the blossoms in outstanding, delicious harmony. The fragility of life at the edge of rugged wilderness is shown with virtuosity. Adoration and congratulations! Peter
