I was absent for a very long time from TN - well, I'm back now, because I really miss everything on TN : picture, nature, friends... I really want to be part of it again, now. So, here I am, with a picture I have taken some weeks ago and which I like very much. Those big eyelashes are great, as well as the shadows in the eye itself. I was able to get very close to the animal to take this picture, close enough to touch it.

By the way, can you guess what animal it is ?
The answer is tomorrow in the evening !

Hi Valerie,
Wow, beautiful shadows within the eye. The DOF through the hairs is captivating as well. To throw out a wild guess: an ostrich? TFS,

Ciao Valerie,

Bonjour Valerie,
So good you're able to be here again, I know it's not easy to manage so many things at the same time.
This picture is stunning, in the close up the eye looks like so similar to the human...those eyelashes!
I have a clue..it seems like the beginning of the beak at the low right side. A big bird?
So we will be tuned up to find out the answer tomorrow ;-)
Bon travail et merci du partage.
Mes amities,

Hello Valerie

Excellent POV and DOF.
The details are terrific,lovely textures.
Good use of lighting, the colours appear natural.
I will guess an Emu or an ostrich.
Good job.

Hi Valerie!

Thank you for coming back, and congratualtions for the way you do it. From my point of view, your original and crystal clear image shows the eye of an Ostrich. I'm looking forward to reading the result of this riddle.

Kind regards

Bel aspect graphique.
Bonne journée.

Hi Valerie

Nice to see you back here and i hope this time for a longer time :)
This is a very interesting photo for a comeback...a true macro of something big :) Such a close-up is hard to find nowadays on TN.
I will guess its an ostrich, too, if i may :)
Anyway, no matter what it really is, this is a superbly original presentation, with good sharp details and a terrific composition.

Bravo and TFS

Hi Valerie,

Amazing closeup! All the details are very striking in your shot. A very creative idea. It should be a bird that runs quite fast or hides in his own unique style, no?

Hi Valerie,
I had to laugh seeing the photo on the introduction page. I hope its not some form of tranformation you are going through. :) I am glad to see you back in action since I missed your photos and stories.
This is an amazing close up of a wonderful ostrich eye. The eye lashes are huge. I love the sharp details in the entire photo and the wonderful reflection in the eye. The catch light from the sun gives it that wonderful sparkle.

Bonjour Valerie-

Wonderful closeup of Dede's eye. I love the sun reflection (like my ice!) and the shadows of the lashes on the iris.

Of course this had to be an animal that would let you get close. Sorry to hear your sad news. Hope you can get another friend soon.

Best regards,

Hi Valerie,

Excellent capture of this eye in a fine composition with wonderful details, nice POV/DOF and colours.

By the way, thanks for your kind wishes which you wrote on my last posting!

Great shot!! I love the idea of this picture. And the excellent quality of sharpness and details is striking. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting photo, good composition and sharpness.

Hello Valerie,

Welcome back again Valerie, and I hope for a long time. I'm scrolling trough your archive and I found this beauty. What a splendid shot of the eye from an Ostrich. When you see your thumbnails you get the right answer. But back to your eyecatcher. Razorsharp with wonderful contrast. Special the shadowlines from those eyelashes. POV, DOF and BG are good.

A fine photo.

Kind regards and TFS BOB

Hi Valerie,

Excellent focus on the eye of this beauty. The sharpness produced by tour excellent optics is simply stunning. So much details with the hair captured in fine pov. Sexy look and well presented in TN.
