Hi all!

Last spring, my wife and I spent our holidays in Britanny. We stayed most of the time in the Finistère departement, among others on the camping site of Telgruc sur Mer (peninsula of Crozon).

You easily can imagine how delighted I was when I found Flysch formations and other beautiful and interesting rocks. One afternoon, while my wife made a siesta, I walked down to the beach and admired the beautiful paintings mother nature offered me. I was so absorbed by the beauty of the drawings and concentrated on taking pictures that I forgot the tide... suddenly the quite fresh water of a more important wave tickled my feet and I realized that I couldn't reach the beach again without wetting my camera. The only solution was to climb the 25m high rock... Luckily I had practised climbing until a couple of years ago.

At least, the pictures I brought back to the caravan were worth the adventure... and the white lie I had to tell my wife about the way back home!

:-)

Kind regards

Markus

Bonsoir cher voisin Markus,
Catherine

Ciao Markus. We are admiring a masterpiece! TFS.

Hello Markus,
What a discovery! Fantastic. I like this very much. Splendid colours, sharpness and a perfect choice of composition. A big poster on the wall!
Regards,
Peter

Ciao Markus,

Markus, you are a gifted 'liar'! The sample of mother Nature's creations you brought up from the bottom of a precipice by climbing up 25m of steep rock is praise-worthy and worth taking risks at your age :).
The 'drawing' on the rock is a beautiful work of art with each stroke of the artist perfectly in place.
Well done and thanks for showing us this lovely composition.
Ram

Poetry in stone, Markus!
A stunning shot, well framed and you've chosen the perfect exposure!
Bravo!

A lovely rock abstract. Very well captured with nice composition and good light/flash. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hallo Markus,

Ciao Markus, great artwork, fascinating abstract composition, very well done my friend, ciao Silvio

Hi Markus
Hmm, another artistic image from you, as we have used, with an eye for detail. Honestly, a nice photo, which makes me wonder once again the hidden treasures of rocks.
Oana

Lieber Markus,
Anne

Ahhh... as i read your notes, you have very exciting moments during this capturing Markus! Another great presentation from the Nature mother's art! Good choice of vertical framing!
TFS and have a nice night!
Cheers,

Bayram

Hola Markus,

Un abrazo " from Catalonia": Josep Ignasi.

Hello Markus,
It is amazing what variety of patterns and delicate pastel shades the Flysch type of mudstone has to offer, the sulphur content providing the yellowish tints, while iron salts put in the reddish brown tints. The pattern you chose is well composed and photographed to a high technical standard.
The climbing adventure you had to undergo adds interest to the note.
This pattern could well be a success in the textile industry!
Thanks and kind regards,
Ivan

A beautiful art piece in geological nature Markus. Your images will stand the test of time!

Hello Markus,
It is almost hard to believe that such beautiful formations are actually etched in stone, looks like fine abstract art work. The color, texture and lighting are wonderful!! Well done!!

Your experience of being caught by the tide made me smile, it's happened to me many times...so often we become absorbed in what we are doing we fail to notice whats going on around us until it's too late!
This was well worth the climb though. Another beauty in yuor abstract gallery...i could look at this for ages...
