Mandarin Ducks Bank Holiday
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|A pair of Mandarin ducks in breeding plumage on the canal bank on a dull and damp Sunday afternoon.|
I would have used a slower speed and smaller F-stop if I had been a bit quicker setting up the shot.

Hi Geoffrey,it's the love time and it's nice to see a couple so well captured, beautiful face to face in an excellent sharpness and bright colors,i like it! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
Mandarin ducks are one of my all time favorite waterfowl, because of their gorgeous plumages. You have captured this pair in wonderful detail. I like the frontal pose of the drake as it is not often seen in a photo. I have viewed hundreds of mandarin drake images from a side view, but this is one of the first I've seen from this angle. It gives us a great look at it's lovely feathers on the side of it's face all flared out...How neat looking!! The female is in a nice semi sneak pose as she searches of food.
The only thing I question is the white balance, the foliage to me seems to have a tad too much lime color to it. I wanted to try a WS and see If I could adjust the color a bit. If you disagree just ignore it, as I still like the shot:)
Well captured these mail and female. Nice color and quite well managed low POV.
Thanks and regards,
