Travel to Tanzania (continuation). This time we are in the crater of GORONGORO, near a big elephant with a lot of birds around!! Canon EOS 300 V, Gold Kodak 800 ISO, numerisation of negative with Coolscan 4 Nikon, NeatImage for the noise. The photograph is a little noisy, but I find this sequence full of life too!!. I hope that you will like!

thats a cool shot..the bird on the elephants back seems to be enjoying itself
this looks like some of my print scans...and i dont know what you were using..i know its up there but i dont know what it is..dont think your noise is too bad..
the best elephants i have seen were also in the ngorongoro crater
apparently the sides are so steep only males..who always are solitary...can go down the sides...the family stays in the timber around...could be wrong about that
and i do like

Very nice shot Didier,Lovely composition and POV.Sharpness, colors, light, composition, everything is excellent !

Not bad, not an everyday vibe either... strange POV but spectacular, nevertheless...

Hello Didier!
Wonderful scane and capture.POV,details, sharpness and composition are excellent.TFS...:-)

Hi Didier,

I don't find it noisy. Its a nice capture of a place I would lov eto visit. The birds adds to the interest of the picture. The contrasts are a bit harsh though. It would have had more impact if the elephant faced you instead of away as in the capture.

Well done.

Didier, a very nice shot.

It must have been difficult to deal with exposure on this one, but I think you did great.

I like pov and composition. Of course, the bird on the elephant is a very cool bonus.

Hi Didier,
It does have a strong visual impact. A scene I would love to experience first hand some day. The birds are they to eat bugs off him, and any he stirs up as he shuffles his feet.

Bonjour Didier!
Great place and you should had wonderful time there.
I envy you this travel.
Thank you for this postcard form your tripo :-)

Hi Didier,
I like your photo, I don't think is too noisy.
But it's a bit tight in front of the elephant.
Nice colours and good POV.
The birds are a nice bonus.
Well done.

Hi Didier,
You captured a nice scene here which is interesting and creates a fascinating photo as is. However, too much is happening and a clear focus is missing.
Three possible focus points are :
1. the head of the elephant (ear is infront of the eyes and it is placed very close to the border of the frame),
2. the egret sitting on its back (too small and also too close to the border), and
3. the multitude of egrets surrounding the elephant and even two greyish herons among them (lower POV, close-up, different crop would have made them the focus)
I can well understand that you wanted to show all of it at once, wish I had been there!
Kind regards,

Hi Didier,
Good detail and colours. Great POV and sharpness.
Nicely composed and good exposure.
Thanks for posting. Have a good week.
