[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hover Fly also called Flower Fly, or Syrphid Fly, any member of the insect family Syrphidae (order Diptera), which numbers about 4,000 species. Their various common names refer to the behaviour of hovering around flowers. Hover flies, with their yellow markings, resemble wasps or bees but do not bite or sting. They are distinguished from other flies by a false (spurious) vein that closely parallels the fourth longitudinal.

This is a crop. The photo is not as sharp or detailed as I hoped because of: constant breeze, handheld shot, limitations of camera and photographer.

A very sharp shot of the hoverfly smack dab in the middle of the beautiful flower. Interesting composition, great POV.
Well done and TFS. : )

What a wonderful and interesting photo that you have well done ! It is pleasure for my eyes ;-) I also appreciate the complementary note... Congratulations Daniel and thanks for sharing.

Very good composed, using the geometrical elements of the flower and the patterns to create a strong visual effect.

Regards, Petru

Nice Agrostemma gracilis flower, it looks too sharp. Ori

This is very nice. I like the colours, details and sharpness. If it was just the one flower in the middle then it would be a excellent photo, but I still like it. Well done.

Nice shot, good crisp color too.

great macro of bee! Nice colours, details, POV, sharpness....

Hi Daniel
Great macro of the fly in a lovely surrounding. You could have included a macro of the flower as well as it is also very striking.
The composition is very good and the colours are amazing. Nothing wrong with the sharpness so no need to be so humble. Exposure and lighting is spot-on and DOF & BG is great.
Very good work, TFS.

Hello Daniel.

Excellent picture, nice composition and colors.

Jose Luis
