[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I've been scanning some slides lately and came across some slides from occasions where I bear good memories in mind. This is a Calopteryx haemorrhoidalis, taken ealry in the morning just on the border of La Crau in southern France. I was there way before sunrise for bird watching. On the way back there was a little stream where I took a rest. This was the only image I could take in a natural setting. Hereafter it would only sit on the bag I was carrying. Strange habit...:-)

It's hard to get good contrast in scanned pictures. Maybe if I have some to to make it better, I'll repost it.

Hi Jacob

This is another wonderful macro shot from you, my friend!
This is a splendid damselfly that i belive i didn't see before...so TFS! :)
Taking into consideration that this is a scanned slide, the sharpness on the subject is fantastic and the colors are great!
The low-angled POV here is terrific and the DOF is impeccable, isolating the damsel nicely from the BG.
A very beautiful compositon!

Bravo and TFS

Great details on the eye!!!

Hello Jacob,
This species of Calopteryx is not so familiar to me as we don't have it in Sweden, so I can't really judge the colour, but it seems to be a bit underexposed. This may be due to the scanning.
However this is still a beautiful sharp and well-composed shot.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Hi Jacob,
I always like to see a new species unfamiliar to me, and here is one. You did a good job on it. I think the pic is not underexposed, the leaf and the backgroud tell another story. But what is te advantage of being metallic-black? It is a signal not often seen. Another highlight for TN.
Thanks for this,
Kind regards, Dietrich
