Wiki could not give me the species...
I searched through a TrekNature theme without succes.
I don't think it is a female Mallard or a Wood Duck??

It's a lovely shot, very clear, pin sharp focus and a nice crop to the head.

As far as breed, possibly a female Black Duck which is very similar to the Mallard. It's difficult because information on breeds tend to concentrate on just the male plummage.

Good work on a nice portrait Annick.

Hoi Annick,
Great shot of this duck, I think it is a mallard.
Very sharp and detailed.

Beautiful portrait of this duck. It could be a black duck, but could be a mallard hybrid of some sort. That mottled bill is confusing. I've seen many strangely marked 'mallard like' ducks that don't fit the description of anything in my field guides.

Whatever it is, you have captured it beautifully. Wonderful detail, in perfect focus. Good DOF and a nice POV and cropped to make a nice composition.

Nice Portrait with excellent details!Nice POV&Framing!

Great quacker profile Annick,
Nice sharp detail, with very good colors and exposed well..Excellent POV and the BG sets it-off famously :)
Well composed,
Very well done.

Hi Annick,
Lovely head shot of what I think is a cross-breed. I don't know of any ducks with a 'mottled' beak. Still a good picture though.

Hi Annick. Lovely background makes the sharpness of this picture even better. I am not an expert either, but it looks like a cross between a mallard and farm duck - I live by a river and we have a lot of 'cross' ducks, they often have strange colouration, especially the bills. James

Hello Annick a lovely composition with fine detail good contrast ansd saturation nice clean background tfs rgds necip

You have really brought out the richness of details on the female plumage.
Though as not colorful, the markings on these feathers are just as beautiful.
I really like the range of browns on this duck.
Great POV for this profile. Magnificent close-up.
The light is absolultely perfect.
