Hello to you all - what shall I say - it's still winter ...

When I looked outside the window in the morning, I looked surprised and thought my eyes played a trick with me ...
Everything was white again - 12 cm snow in only 2 hours, it was a heavy snowstorm - and we had these storms several times today combined with sunshine, crazy April-weather.

I never had so many hungry guests in my garden than today.
I counted about 10 starlings, 50 bramblings, 20 greenfinches, 10 siskins, 3 bullfinches, 2 goldfinches, 1 yellowhammer and several sparrows, blackbirds and tits.
They have eaten the normal ration of one week in a few hours - wow, it was amazing.

I captured this greenfinch for you demonstrating, how to "filet" a sunflower-grain, they are so ably doing this with the beak.

I hope you like it - and please keep your fingers crossed for us here in Europe, that we soon will have warm weather again, thanks.

Enjoy the weekend

Sabine

Hallo Sabine!

As liebs Grüessli

Markus

Liebe Sabine,
Bravo immer wieder!
Herzlich grüsst

Hi Sabine !
Super photo, great one can see details, nice natural colours.
I am greeting Slawek.

Hallo Sabine,
Wonderful capture of the hungry greenfinch, fantastic sharpness, colors, excellent POV and above all, awesome facial expression and pose. You're lucky to have so many visitors in Your garden - imagine a less snowy winter: You would mostly photograph sparrows (if You would), because everyone should have enough food. With this I'd like to say there's something good in everything which is bad, now our long and cold winter.
Congrats and tfs, friendly regards, László

Hi Sabine.
I am glad that you have also so long lens. As you macro lens it helps you to create stunning shots. I am impressed with magnification and three-dimensional effect of the image. Details of the bird and seed are unbelievable. Fantastic work. My congratulations.

Bonjour Sabine,

Great close-up of the birdy. Excellent sharpness on the eye and perfect exposure. Tight cropping brings all attention to him and even at F/14 the DOF is so shallow (main caracteristic of close-up) that the BG is "blurry" enough not to distract. Great work and TFS.

Alain

It's too bad Tamron doesn't make that lens with USM and IS. It would be a great competitor to Nikon who make a lens with the same range for over $6000 CAN. I am actually searching for a good versatile telephoto zoom lens, but can't afford the Nikon one. Unless Nikon release a new version of there 80-400mm, Sigma will be my choice. But Tamron make great lens (90 macro and this one proves it)
