Last week in Bavaria. 36 C in the shade, but still - orchids! Here is one example, The Dark Red Helleborine. It is widespread across Europe all the way to the subarctic, and south to the Mediterranean, east to Western Siberia and the Caucasus.This species has been reported at altitudes from sea level to 2400 m.

It reaches 80 cm in height. The flowers are up to 2 cm wide.
