Graphium agamemnon (Tailed Jay)

Range: Indo-Malayan region to N. Australia

The Tailed Jay is a swift-flying butterfly and is often encountered flitting from flower to flower, stopping for a second or two sipping the nectar. Its favourites are Lantana and Ixora blooms.
The upperside of this butterfly comprise apple-green spots on a black background. The hindwing has a short tail, which is longer in the female. On the underside, the purple-brown ground colour has the same green spotting as well as some dark patches and red spots on the underside of the hindwing.
The caterpillar is known to feed on Annonaceae species, of which a particular favourite is the Yellow Chempaka.

I like the entire composition. The greens spots on the wings are really eye catching, until I read your notes I thought they were clear spots and the green was the leaves behind it. It pays to read photo notes.

You managed to create a very interesting 3D image of this wonderful butterfly and its environment. The juicy colourful leafs harmonize with elegant butterfly perfectly. Lighting and cropping are very impressive too. Superb done and TFS.
