Gem-studded puffball

Found at the boundary of an oak/spruce forest at the southern boundary of the Moehnesee.

When the fruiting bodies of this puffball become mature, they become brown. A hole in the top releases spores. It opens when the mushroom is hit by raindrops or falling acorns. The inhalation of the spores may cause lung problems.
