Hello my TN-friends.

I checked my big archiv of shots I made during this summer. I had the pleasure to see so many wonderful things - but the most impressive moments are these here.
I were so happy to see the "birth" of a dragonfly.

Here you see the whole circle of life of a Southern Hawker (Aeshna cyanea), Blaugrüne Mosaikjungfer.

As you can see on my first shot I also saw a nymph in the water - at night! They feed on aquatic insects, tadpoles and small fish ambushed in the pond they frequent until they emerge as adults in July and August after three years development.

Than, on a warm night in August - it was nearly midnight - I saw this most impressive moment: the birth of this Blue Darter.

Now, some weeks later, I met this guy again, sitting in the sunlight and warming - later with his pretty lady in a distance of 5 meters high on a tree - taking care that we will see their "babies" in a view years.

I hope you like this résumé of a Southern Hawker's life. Thanks for looking and your time.

Hi Sabine

What a splendid post!!! Again a wonderful collage from the Master of collages :)
This little evolution post will most definitely (sooner or later) be asked to be used in biology classes in schools or even universities.

I am really happy for you that you were so lucky to find this charming species in so many places and moments and also managed to take photos of every of them.
The details in all of them are superb and the poses that the darter is presented in are also great!
All-in-all, an amazing job!

Bravo and TFS

You know Wishnu unfortunately I never seem to have time to look at the macro side of TN these days but I have to say your gallery is full of wonderful captures. The standard here has become very high, this is amazing stuff. Very well done.
