I've been so happy to see this mating wheel life - about 1 1/2 meters away from me. They were so pretty and it seems to me, they were watching me.

During mating the male clasps the female by her neck while she bends her body around to his reproductive organs – the shape that this creates is called a mating wheel. The pair fly together over the water and eggs are laid within a suitable plant, just below the surface.

The eggs hatch and the larvae, called nymphs, live in the water. Nymphs eventually climb out of the water up a suitable stem to emerge from their split skins as damselflies.

Peaty the photo is overexposed.
The black background didn't help to much.
Over all a great moment of Nature!

Nice try, Sabine.
The flash has exposure after the BG and give the Damselflies to much light. Try to set down the flash to EV-1.
The pov and the composition are nice.

I think that Gert give you you here the best critique, it is overexposed and the tl efect could be nice. There for respect, good job,

Das ist eine sehr gute Aufnahme. Prima gemacht.

Danke.

This shot is fantastic with the colours in blue. The focus is fantastic, and the background a must. You composed it very well and the text is great too.
