Family: Carabidae

The species prefers humid deciduous or mixed-type forests. There is a similar species, Carabus auratus, which can be distinguished by the brown colour of the first four antennal segments.

I just finished viewing a beautiful metallic blue bettle of Ahmet's and now you present us with this gorgeous metallic green specimen. What a fine and colorful looking insect captured in exceptional detail. I like the way you photographed it in the grass and with such perfect exposure. Awesome shot!!

Ron is right. Yesterday, I also shared the picture of a similar beetle from carabus family. But mine is blue. It was hard to photograph the beetle beacause it was very quick.
