[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) is the only species of the kingfisher family (Alcedinidae) in Central Europe. The kingfisher is 18 centimeters larger than a finch, but since five centimeters fall on the beak alone, it seems rather small and some observers are a little disappointed, because they had imagined the bird "much larger". His back plumage shines depending on the incidence of light cobalt to azure or even turquoise.
