Hallo Sabine!
Sagenhaft was bei Dir im Garten vertreten ist. Dieses hier ist ein Distelfink bzw. Stieglitz (Carduelis carduelis). Ich bin begeistert! Ich hatte diesen schmucken Finken erst am Montag im Vogelpark abgelichtet - nicht gut genug für Treknature! - Dein Foto dagegen ist wieder eine Augenweide. Ist ein richtig schmuckes Kerlchen! Danke.

Nice portret of this putter(dutch) or steglits(swedish),these birds have marvellous colors,here we see them sometimes in big flocks,but I havent been so lucky to get close enough for a descent shot,but who knows,anyway I like the composition,maybe a little on the soft side,but I like it anyway,

Hi Sabine!
Your patience paid off rich dividends; the bird has obliged you with a majestic posture. I love the red, white and black combination on its head and that dab of yellow on the tail.
Superb DOF and POV. The claws and the twig are a little soft but do not affect the overall appeal of the picture.

Hi Sabine

I am awaiting the return of the Goldfinch too. The trees in my garden that they visit has aready grown the long seed pods that the Goldfinch feed from. It is now a matter of being patient and eventually I will be rewarded with the visits.

A superb catch from you. Lovely depth of colour. Great eye contact. :-)

What a perfect shot of such a dramatically colored bird. I can't think of one single thing that would improve the shot, other than him being in my garden, but then I don't have the camera to have caught him so well. I also don't have a garden! ;-) Very well done.
