|The allium Green Papageiamadine (Erythura prasina) is a kind from the family of the splendour finches. It is common in Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo and Java. |
The allium Green Papageiamadine reaches a body size between 14 and 15 centimeters and ranks thereby among the largest kinds among the splendour finches. The strong and bill large in relation to the head is from dark grey color. The eyes are black. The body top side is greenish with both kinds. With the male head and throat are blue as well as the belly red. The individual colour fields are separated not from each other, but turn into into one another.
The allium Green Papageiamadine is a free breeder, which builds her nest free standing in the bushes. It uses for it narrow sheets, vegetable fibers and Moos. The female puts between two and 6 eggs. The breeding duration amounts to 12 to 14 days.
