In lake Kerkini's northern shore. The lake was formed in 1932, when a dam was built on Strymon river. It is the wildlife-richest habitat in Greece and one of the ten water-reserves protected by Ramsar Treaty.
1) Little egrets (egretta garzetta). It lives in marshes, shallow fresh and coastal waters, usually breeding in trees and near water.
2) White pelicans (pelecanus onocrotalus). A colonial bird, living in fresh and brackish lakes, marshes and shallow coastal waters.

Hello Theologos,
Excellent habitat shot showing pelicans and egrets on Lake Kerkini. I like the composition showing alternate strips of water and surface aquatic vegetation and nesting trees in the BG.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan
