|In lake Kerkini's northern shore. The lake was formed in 1932, when a dam was built on Strymon river. It is the wildlife-richest habitat in Greece and one of the ten water-reserves protected by Ramsar Treaty.|
1) Little egrets (egretta garzetta). It lives in marshes, shallow fresh and coastal waters, usually breeding in trees and near water.
2) White pelicans (pelecanus onocrotalus). A colonial bird, living in fresh and brackish lakes, marshes and shallow coastal waters.
