Hummm.. Your Lestes macrostigma is a interesting and beatiful cousin of our Lestes dichrostigma, I think is amazing both similar species lives so far away! About this shot, I can say the BG is perfect, beatiful an homogenus miracle! Congratulations. Also the POV is very suitable, and you've take great adavantage for compose whit the spike in right side.
Your shots with SX10 are impressives, but with your G9 I can say you're making almost magical shots, with same DSLR level!

Damselflies are very beautiful insects. But their photography usually hard to me since theri tiny bodies. You managed very well to capture it with a wonderful close-up. sharp details, exposure, colors, POV/DOF and composition great. thanks for sharing this beauty
