Hello,

I very rarely upload two non-fungal images after each other, but today I felt I have to share this image, and not any else. :) It shows the fruits of Red Elderberry (Sambucus racemosa), which species You can read about here. Not so common in Hungary as the Black Elderberry (Sambucus nigra); both are deciduous shrubs or small trees.

Not the 1st photo of the species on TN, but not an often shared one either.

I'd like to dedicate the image to my great Friend Ahmet Karatash (rousettus), who always offers us something to learn with his wonderful photos and well written notes. Dear Ahmet, in spite of mine being a simple image taken with a simple compact camera, I hope You'll like it.

Photo: I took it back in the summer of 2008, on a field near Bükkszentkereszt village. This field was one of my top favorites when I was a child, because it's available from the city relatively easily, and I never in my life saw so many and so big-sized specimens of Parasol (Macrolepiota procera) as there. Unfortunately these times are over as my childhood, but I was extremely surprised when realizing I didn't share any images with You from this field 'til now (although I have many). PP: moderate cropping, very light dose of noise reduction and the usual framing - signing - re-sizing.

Thanx for looking and commenting.

Ciao Ladislao,

Hi, my dear friend Lázsló,
What a surprise for me. I am very glad receiving such a great dedication. Not important camera, important thing your cordial dedication. I am very happy. many thanks for this gift and your kind words. I dont think giving importance to my notes as much as you mentioned. I also pleasured.
As you know, I am a zoologist, not a botanist. But I also like plants and I know Sambucus nigra from my hometown, Black Sea, and plant anatomy lessons when I was biology student. It supplies a good condition when we take some tiny layer of tissue from plant parts for anatomical investigations under microscobe. But I dont know red one, S. racemosa. It will be new to me.
As your post, your notes very nice to read and good informative. Thanks for sharing and thanks again for your kind gift. I also like to thank to our friends, Maurizio, Peter, Catherine and others for their kind words.
king regards and have a good night (iyi geceler)

Hi Vladyslav.
Nice dedication to our friend and so amazing shot. You managed to represent these fruits at all their beauties. Lovely natural colours. Great sharpness and excellent selection of the DOF. A bit blurred impressive surroundings decorate the image perfectly. Thanks a lot and best wishes.

Hi MF Laszlo,
very juicy and very shiny fruits shown here. It is such a detail and i could see an insect among the fruits. Besides unique and special, these fruits are something new, even the name.
What a sharing I got from you my friend.
The composition is so exciting and inviting.

Regards,
Foozi

Hi Laszlo
I see you have the same species of Red Elderberry as we have in Alberta. Way cool! I find red a very challenging colour to photograph but you done a great job. It's to bad they are not edible as they look appetizing. I see a little grasshopper has hidden in the berries ; )

Tu toma la valoro por la buena realización técnica y en general bien cotrolada luz. No tengo vista esta espectacular especie por mi zona. Un buen documento para Tn.
