[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I wish to have more time on TrekNature... You, dear Nature Photographers, are great inspiration for me, I was and am learning so much from you... Big thanks to everyone!!! Now I'd like to share - instead of another mycological post - a landscape done on last Saturday on the hill Kapu-bérc (= "Gate Peak", 722 meters asl.), with huge rain curtain in the very far background.

Post-processing (Adobe Photoshop CS4):
- partial desaturation (-78)
- by my opinion optimal levels and contrast
- shadows / highlights (a bit extreme dose of highlights in order to have more visible rain curtain without darkening the photo too much)
- simple frame
- re-sizing
- Neat Image

Four years ago I already posted a panoramic photo of this scene. It's nothing but a simple snap, but that was what I was capable of that time...

I was inspired to do such post-processing procedure by a great photo posted on TN a few days ago. If you'd like to see the full colored version, please click here, to the site of our mycological association.

Hi laszlo,

Very nice strong characterised composition Laszlo, but i have a problem here and its lack of light, also very noisy which accompanies low light, however a lovely scene and wish you better luck next time,
Best regards my friend and have a nice week,

Pauly,

Dear friend László,
I think this shot has its value because it transmits something...because this scene is powerful and of course it is not taken in studio...So , why talk about "noise", "lack of light"...
Oh, come on ! I think you did a great job, László! Bravo! And many thanks for sharing this amazing shot with us!
Best wishes,
aNa

Hi Lazlo,
Almost a mistical photo with the band of rain in the distance and the overall grey light (also caused by the desaturation of course). Although a stonger element in the FG would've been nicer, the composition with the balance between the rain and partial tree is good. I am thinking of what could make this photo different and maybe better and think that a real B&W might work as well. Still a great view of bad weather.
TFS,
Niek
