[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Dear TN-members,

A couple of days ago I received a very arrogant forum message ("What? You are so busy on the dark ground you ground with other things living on the ground that you forgot about light? And you forgot a lot about manners as well.") from an old TN-member, only because I critiqued someone else's photo and mentioned it's overexposed. The photographer, who's on my fave list, and not from yesterday, accepted the critique and tried to calm his friend down. The whole childish story isn't worth a single word, except for either there's a poet lost in the old colleague (whose intro starts with the sentence "Feel free to be critical."...) or he has learnt from his grandchild, but it's really sad an otherwise highly respected and acknowledged photographer allows this impertinent tone for himself only because another member uses the magic word "overexposure" (and not even to his photo). If there's anyone interested in this storm in a pot more (though I hope not), here is my critique, and here is the reaction.

Sorry if I bored You with such a stupid story. But I'd like to show to everyone although I love to photograph fungi, and they get priority in my uploads, I'm not an enemy of available lights. Quite the opposite.

Argynnis paphia is a very common butterfly specie in our mountains, mostly on wet and sunny territories. I photographed this specimen closed to Répáshuta village, in the Bükk mountains. PP: little exposure correction, noise reduction, gaussian blur on the bg, framing, signing, re-sizing.

hello Laszlo,
I've read carefully your note. I wish no more such events. Beautiful is this species, pretty flutter in air. I like your composition.

hi Laszlo

Grazie e complimenti.
Maurizio

Hallo Laszlo
What a really beautiful toffee brown coloured butterfly. The patterns and markings are wonderfully displayed and very clear. I especially like the curved edged wings. I just love the way you presented this beauty. It fills my whole screen. Focus, sharpness and clarity are super. This is really splendid and a pleasure to observe and admire. This specie is a real beauty with its lovely wings wide opened. A lovely photo which I appreciated very much. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna

Hi Laszlo, very very beautifull pic,i like a lot this situation, whit the butterfly in the sun in a shadow environment,it's the best situation to take the pic, remember my my last Issoria posting in my gallery, this time 2 points are not enough,my best compliment,Luciano

Hi Hormon

Don't worry adverse reactions, we all get them from time to time. I once had a fellow on TN tell me that shooting sunsets was not proper photography and I should dissapear from the earth!!!. Just ignore those reactions and enjoy the beauty of nature, however you see it.

This is a good one my friend. Good diagonal composition, great sharpness and good DOF

Chris

Hello Laszlo. Excellent framing of this butterfly in full spreading wings. Sharp detail markings in very good framing. Well done and best regards. Jusni

Hello Laszlo,

I can see a lovely butterfly!
The close-up work is well done and shows the fine wing pattern, pin sharp and with fine colours...
I like the composition that gives the insect room to look into, DoF works well to isolate the subject!

Greetings,
Pablo -

Szia Laci!
(: Tulajdonképpen a színei miatt.
Marci
