[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello,

Fungi image from me today, done on my trip to the Bükk mountains yesterday. Now, in late summer, it's time of Leccinums, the species of - by my opinion - the most photogenic fungus genus. Although I'm experienced with fungi, I have a dilemma about ID specification: this one on the photo is either Leccinum aurantiacum or Leccinum versipelle. Both are edible, so no problems after eating, but Leccinums are very difficult, even impossible to identify correctly without knowing the mycorrhiza partner (to know more about what mycorrhiza connection is, please read the note of this photo of mine. In this case it doesn't help so much, because L. aurantiacum's partner is poplar (Populus tremula), while L. versipelle is obligate mycorrhiza fungus of birch (Betula pendula), but I found the photographed specimen in a forest of birch and poplar. By the way, taste of it was fine.

Shot in JPG, 0.3 underexposure, manual white balance settings. Beside the usual framing - signing - re-sizing trio only a little sharpening selectively to the cap, and a little color correction (+4 to green).

Ah, about the title: a scene with a redcap fungus always seems like an illustration of a fairytale... At least I think so.

By the way, this is my 1st photo here which was shot with my new camera.

Similar scene with vertical composition may be seen here on TrekLens.

Hello Laszlo,
I loved the sunlight that falls on the mushroom that gives a nice shadow!
The colour of the mushroom makes a beautiful colour contrast with the surrounding!
well done with the notes

Edible or not, I don't think I would want to even try a little bit of the mushrooms we find in the forests now.
It is a lovely fairytale scene Laszlo, and I understand what you mean

Hi Laszlo,

Beautiful picture indeed! It conveys well the atmosphere of the woods.

Well done!

Ishi

Hi Laszlo,
this really looks like a fairytale land. Very well done.
Thanks
Pierre

Hello Laszlo,

Fantastic close up of this mushrooms.Excellent composition with beautiful colours.Sharpness and details are good.

Hi Laszio,

Your camera did pretty well in the mixed light. The colors and sharpness look good. I am a bit uncomfortable with the wide, high contrast B & W frame. It has the highest contrast of anything in the photo and there for detracts from the subject I think. The white, right next to the black has the effect of visually coming foreward and it fights with the mushroom that also wants to come forward. I played with a workshop.

Very good perspective and DOV.
Congratulations!

Hi Laszlo, I enjoy seeing the huge variety of mushrooms and toadstools that your gallery holds. This is very much like the ones in kids books for sure. Good placement and clarity as well as colour. TFS. Murray.

Hi Laszlo

Great shot of this fungi. Your lucky there are so many types you can eat there. Most of our native ones are toxic!
Great composition, sharpness and POV.

Chris

Szia Laci!

Grat a géphez, szerintem jól döntöttél a kategóriában!
És grat a képhez is, ahhoz képest hogy csak ismerkedtek tökéletesen sikerült! Kompo, színek, dof, minden. És szép részletgazdag. Bocs a rövidségért de rohannom kell!

Üdv,
Andor

Hi Laszlo,
Very nice mushroom, wonderful light and forest in the background, good focus and colours, your photo reminds me of trips to forests in Poland,
TFS & regards,
Tomasz

Hello Laszlo,
a splendid picture of this Leccinunm taken with superb sharpness, a lovely composition of atmosphere, light and colour, done in the true "Ladislao" style and manner, very well done
TFS
Best regards
Maurizio

Hi Laszlo My Friend,
This is a real fairytale shot. There could be a toad on its hat looking at you in a serious mood. That how I would think about this fungi.
nicely shot with features well seen. It is hard for me to witness it here.
well presented with good lighting and lovely environment.

regards,
Foozi
